Freelancing Jobs For Beginners

Freelancing definitely seems to have become quite a popular option for a large number of people throughout the world to make a living. However, although some of them do take a liking to the profession, some others just don’t manage to stick to it for a long time.

No, we aren’t talking about the money here. A freelancer, if a skilled and experienced one, can probably make a decent amount of money after spending a few months and finding a few good clients to work with on a regular basis.

However, as Kartikeya Sharma, a well-known online marketing company in India and someone knowledgeable on the topic points out about online jobs or freelancing, there are quite a few factors that may make you reconsider your decision to be a full-time freelancer. Some of the major ones are being mentioned below.

A “lonely” profession

Well, full-time freelancers usually have to work alone all day. It can obviously get quite lonely over a period of time. Unlike other professions, where you may be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of an office, freelancing may mean working in a lonely way from your home.
If you can’t deal with this mental feeling, you may want to think twice before stepping your foot in the freelancing industry.

Easy to be irresponsible

If you are a freelancer, there’s no one keeping a watch over you while you are working. This puts you at a risk of being irresponsible and not working as much as you could or should.
On the other hand, if you are working on a real job, you may have to be fully productive all through the working hours.

You have to be very tolerant

As you are working with people from all over the world, their mentality and way of thinking may be quite different. You may come across clients who behave with you in a much more disappointing manner than you can expect.

Also, as clients may not have anything to lose while being rude with you, they may not think twice before talking in a disrespectful way.

Having to negotiate

Freelancing is obviously nowhere near to being a profession where you would get a fixed amount of money every month, unless probably if you are working for one or two fixed clients offering the same amount of work every month. Needless to mention, such cases are quite rare.

You would usually have to negotiate a lot with your clients in order to avoid selling yourself short, and have to manage many different clients at the same time.
